We have a busy few weeks coming up before the Rolex Regatta starts to dominate the club in March.
This weekend in addition to the Lionfish and Lobster Hunt to be held on Saturday we will also be hosting Ken Legler who is one of the premier race committee officials in the US.
Ken will be holding a team racing clinic during the day for the High School team and on both Friday and Saturday night he has agreed to do a clinic on Race Management on both signal boats and mark boats.
Each night will be a bit different:
Friday the discussion will be informal and open to questions but will focus on how to start races and the best methods to get boats that are premature starters. This should be of interest to race committees but also to racers. What better way to understand how a race committee operates than hearing it from their own mouths.
Saturday the presentation will be more formal leading you through all facets of RC from setting marks to finishing races. Should be of interest to all.
This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the best give his spiel at not charge! Please come out and enjoy while you learn.
The following weekend we will host the Chrysler Cup Tennis Tournament from Friday the 18th though Monday the 21st. great viewing all weekend at the club with this being the best year yet for getting some real heavy hitting players. Come out all weekend and enjoy some great tennis.
Sunday the 20th - Pillsbury Sound Race Skippers meeting at 1000 - Racing starts at 1100
open to all boats over 18 ft and cats.
