Hi All,
Just a quick up date on things happening at STYC. We had a very successful Commodore's Ball and a great Super Bowl Party this past weekend.
Racing has gotten active again and our Junior sailors have been in Puerto Rico and St. Petersburg competing and doing well.
We are very excited about the upcoming Choice Wireless Tennis Tournament being held at STYC from Feb 16th - 20th. Over 100 entries and as always the tennis will be fabulous. Unfortunately our courts remain closed waiting to be painted and as soon as the rain stops we will let you know when they are to reopen.
On Tuesday Feb 21st we will be featuring Cajun and New Orleans food for a Fat Tuesday celebration.
On Saturday Feb 25 - Ched and his crew will be doing another New England Lobster and Clam Bake at STYC. This requires some planning so call for reservations and pricing in the next week.
On Saturday March 3rd we will be hosting a Beer and Food Pairing - save the date and get your reservations for this unique event.
All things 39th Annual International Rolex Regatta.
Well it's just around the corner with sailing taking place March 23rd - 25th.
Volunteers are still needed for the Race Committee please contact Shep Barrows or John Sweeney "John Sweeney" <john.n.sweeney@gmail.com>, "Shep Barrows" <shepusvi@yahoo.com>
We also need a 30 - 40 ft boat that would serve as the race committee boat for the IC 24 fleet - Please contact "Shep Barrows" <shepusvi@yahoo.com>
Volunteers are needed shore side also - parking, lot, running a launch, selling shirts and other regatta wear, committee desk - contact Bill Canfield stycisv@gmail.com
The big ask and how you can really help save us some money - I have a big need for housing - I need about 6 bedrooms fairly near the club for race committee, judges, and film crew. Please let me know f you can help in any way possible! Bill Canfield stycisv@gmail.com They will be no trouble and really need a place to crash after volunteering all day during the event.
A few changes this year are that we will not be doing the party at Yacht Haven Grande on Saturday night but rather we will be hosting a large beach party right at the club. Invite your friends for this one. We will be running shuttles from Red Hook for auxiliary parking. Spectrum Band will be performing out over the water. It should be the party of the year so don't miss out on this one.
I have attached the entire Rolex Schedule below so you can see what is happening when.
On the 17th of March "Irish Eyes and all others will be smiling" as we are hosting an all day St. Patty's Day Party.
The Club will be closed for food on Sunday 18th and Monday the 19th. Our Rolex festivities start the next day on Tuesday the 20th with a Tuesday night grill.
If you can help out with a room, a boat or as a volunteer please contact us
See you at the Club
Bill
